Apple Mail may show this warning while checking new outgoing-server settings, even when they are correct. Save the configuration and send a test email from the Mail app.

If the test email is sent successfully, no further action is required. If sending fails, remove the old outgoing server entry, add it again, and re-enter your password. Contact support if messages remain in the Outbox.
